The Salvation Army
Mission Priorities

Introduction

The Salvation Army in Taiwan has been serving the community for over 50 years. As an international Christian Church and charity and working in 128 countries today, the Salvation Army is strongly committed to meet the wide needs of the community through our social and community services. Our many programmes reach out to children and youths who need care and protection, poverty alleviation and care for the homeless, providing material support to families, supporting disadvantaged seniors, responding to disasters and emergencies, and counselling to those in need towards finding their hope and purpose in life.

The Salvation Army in Taiwan is led by the Regional Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Bob Lee, and is supported by the Regional President of Women’s Ministries, Lieutenant Colonel Wendy Lee.

Their positions are appointed by the General of the Salvation Army, General Andre Cox of the International Headquarters in London. The Salvation Army is structured in a quarsi military style with leadership vested in the General. The chain of command extends from the General, through the Chief of Staff, into overseas departments, into the Region and then into individual community units.
